The mathematics of seats in courses is final in Delhi University. According to the calculations, this year top five courses are Political Science, B.Com (Hons.), English, Hindi and Economics. That means number of seats were higher in this courses in 2013-14 session. In top five charts, four courses are from humanity stream and the remaining one is B.com (Hons.). In Science stream, this year seats are double in Physics, chemistry courses.

According to the Delhi University (DU) information incharge Dr. Satish Kumar, “In 2013-14 sessions, seats in Hindi, computer science and Btech courses are much higher than in comparison with last sessions 2012-13.

Top Five Courses:

  1. B.Com (Hons.): 12452 seats
    from this year B.Com courses seats were converted into B.Com (Hons.) and that’s why the number of seats increased in 2013-14 session. 56 colleges provided this course.

  2. Political Science: 4711 seats
    This Course was available in 49 colleges. And the interesting part is, in comparison to last session, this course were more popular in current session. The cut off are also going to high this year.

  3. English: 4362 seats
    English (Hons.) courses are available in 53 colleges, but in last few years, only 46 colleges can provide these courses. So, that’s why this year the seats counting increased. And one important news coming from this course is, from 2013-14 session, students can get admission in this course through merit list. Because from past few years, students who want to gave a written entrance test to get admission.

  4. Economics: 4316 seats
    economics (Hons.) is available in 50 colleges. And the demand of students who completed their graduation through this course was also high. Sector like Banking, Insurance, Research sector and many more, hire them. Students can apply for Economic (Hons.) in Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC).

  5. Hindi: 4095 seats
    in 2013-14 sessions, seats were increased for Hindi (Hons.) course. The numbers of colleges who provide this course were also increased. Because last year only 46 colleges avail that course, but this year 49 colleges were providing Hindi (Hons.)

  • Philosophy: 12 colleges, 602 seats
  • Sociology: 8 colleges, 463 seats
  • B.tech Electronics: 13 colleges, 528 seats
