All four posts goes to ABVP in Delhi University Students' Union polls


New Delhi: The Narendra Modi wave made its presence felt in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections after BJP's youth wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) made a clean sweep on all four posts after a gap of 18 years.

In a record win, ABVP bagged the post of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary by huge margin.

The post of president was won by Mohit Nagar who got 20,718 votes while the post of vice president has won by Parvesh Malik with 21,935 votes.

Kanika Shekhawat won the secretary's post by netting 18,617 votes and the post of joint secretary was won by Aashutosh Mathur who got 23,133 votes.

National Students' Union of India (NSUI) came second in the polls.

Lakhs of students were eligible to vote to elect the new student union in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi University (DU) yesterday.

The results for JNU are expected to be declared on Monday.
