A New Record Form in JEE Advanced Examination 2013
A boom of OBC Students came out this year in JEE Advanced examination. According to the IIT-Delhi record 1.5 lakh students give JEE Advanced exam, in which 51,170 candidates comes under general category students and 47,085 candidates OBC category.
"A lot of the OBCs qualified under the general category," said H C Gupta, chairman JEE advanced-2013. and now experts also predict that lots of OBCs may not use their special reservation in the final seat allotment to get admission in IIT.
the officials also said that some candidates who came under general category, and clear the JEE-Main Exam, did not sign up for the advance level of JEE. Because they preferred the local engenrrieng college over IITs. they also give some estimated amount of OBCs who had not registered for JEE-Advance beacuse they did not match with OBC eliegibilty criteria.
If we talk about the seats, there are 9,647 undergraduate seats in 15 IITs, IT-BHU and ISM Dhanbad while the number of undergraduate seats in the 30 NITs of the country is 15,678 including the seats in the new ones.
